Position Summary:
The Technical Supervisor (TS) is responsible for the development and maintenance of our digital infrastructure and applications under the direction of the Technical Manager (TM), in support of broader digitization goals. This role will serve as the technical point of contact within our marine terminal operations, working closely with IT, commercial, and process & systems teams.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ensure all activities align with company policies, procedures, and compliance standards.
- Be the 1st point of contact for Tier 1 technical support, providing hands-on assistance to end-users, ensuring timely response and resolution through the ticketing system, and maintaining documentation of support procedures.
- Assist in managing HT’s electronic inventory, from purchase to disposal.
- Develop and maintain documentation on HT’s network infrastructure and the parts of the PHA network that HT interacts with.
- Assist in the lifecycle management of terminal applications, including strategic planning, development, implementation, and maintenance.
- Support ongoing digitization efforts by identifying needs, gaps, and opportunities for system enhancements.
- Stay updated with the latest software developments, especially related to QuickBase and other low-code platforms.
- Coordinate with internal teams, port authorities, service providers, and external stakeholders to meet IT and systems requirements.
- Collaborate with IT and Process & Systems Managers on various technical projects and initiatives.
- Maintain data and information integrity (confidentiality clause).
- Has hire/fire authority for HT ILA employees and can recommend discipline for management subordinates.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience
- Advanced proficiency of MS Office 365
- Programming experience with any programming language (VBA preferred)
- Basic knowledge of low code cloud platforms. Ex. QuickBase, OutSystems, Power Apps or Salesforce
Desired skills:
- HTML, JS, Python, or other coding languages
- Marine terminal/logistic knowledge
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 (fifty) pounds occasionally
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude in the work environment
- Ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, manage trade-offs, and evaluate ideas with internal and external partners
- Able to multi-task between several projects
Working Conditions:
Must be able to work outside, exposed to all weather conditions including heat, cold, and rain. Standing and walking will be required throughout the course of a normal day. The wearing of personal protective equipment including, but not limited to, safety shoes, a safety vest and a hard hat will be required. Other tasks related to cargo management will require sedentary periods for computer input and document review. Required to observe all safety and health requirements for container terminal environment and participate in company and WGMA drug screening programs.

Normal core working hours are 08:00 – 17:00
